Pencoed U11's secured their first home win of the season today beating a strong Nantyffllyn team by 49 points to 26. Due to illness, Pencoed struggled with numbers but managed to put together a team of 12 with an U10's player joining us as our only sub.
It was a tough match which ended up as 11 v 11 due to injuries. Pencoeds tries came in the form of two tries Morgan Richards, one from Owen Howells, one from Jack Gleadhill, one from Bob Childs, and two from Henry. Henry also made a conversion while the other six were superbly executed by Cai Harries.
While the entire team showed commitment and determination, and were each worthy of a 'Player Of The Match' award, this weeks acknowlegement went to Morgan Richards, who kept up with the pace of the game and was regularly first at the tackle.
The game was excellently reffed by our very own Matthew Richards.
Missing today were Iwan Powell, Riley Williams, Tomas Edwards, and Jake Hall.
